Patient Advocacy Scholarship Program
The success of personalized medicine depends on collaboration between patients and health care providers to develop prevention and treatment plans based on information from diagnostic tests as well as each patient’s circumstances and values, instead of relying exclusively on providers to deliver health care based on population averages.
With that in mind, the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) has partnered with the Personalized Medicine Coalition (PMC) to offer a limited number of travel scholarships for patients, representatives from patient advocacy organizations, and caregivers who are interested in attending the 14th Annual Personalized Medicine Conference at Harvard Medical School, which will help define the landscape for personalized medicine in science, business, and policy.
Each scholarship includes a complimentary conference registration and a $1,000 stipend to cover transportation and lodging.
Scholarship recipients will be required to write a reflection about their experience at the conference, which may be published to encourage future applications.
Applications are reviewed within two weeks of submission. Awards will be allocated on a rolling basis.
Scholarships to representatives from patient advocacy organizations are limited to one scholarship per organization.
